Detectives from the Ondo State Police Command have quizzed five persons over the killing of Ifeoluwa Adekunle, a female student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, (AAUA).

Daily Trust had reported that Adekunle, who is a student in the Department of Economics, was found dead in the pool of her blood at her off-campus hostel last weekend.

The deceased was said to have been stabbed to death by her assailants, who visited her in the room.

Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the spokesperson, who gave an update on the sad incident on Monday, said those invited by the police for questioning were neighbours of the deceased.

Odunlami assured that detectives from the state would soon unmask those behind the murder of the female student, saying they would be brought to book.

“The five persons questioned are the neighbours of the deceased staying in the compound.

“But our men are still investigating the case and I know the culprit (s) behind the killing would be unmasked and also brought to book soon,” she said.

Meanwhile, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has demanded justice for the female student murdered by an unknown assailant.

In a statement issued to Daily Trust in Akure on Monday, the NANS Senate President, Babatunde Akinteye, said the police should improve its security measures around the students’ vicinity, Daily Trust reports.
