Emeritus Archbishop Patrick Ebosele Ekpu of the Benin City Archdiocese has passed away at the age of 92.
The announcement was made by the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin, through Very Rev. Fr. Michael Oyanoafoh, and was shared with the media on Wednesday.
Archbishop Ekpu’s death occurred after a brief illness on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 7:09 PM.

The Archdiocese noted that further details regarding his funeral arrangements would be provided in due course.
The Archdiocese also called upon its priests, religious members, and lay faithful to remember him in their prayers.
