Rivers State House of Assembly has point accusing fingers at the state Governor, Simi Fubara.
The assembly said the governor is deliberately trying to frustrate the implementation of the Supreme Court’s verdict, there by delaying the 2025 budget presentation as initially planned.
The assembly in a statement by it spokesperson, als called citizens to disregard what they called “deliberate attempt by the governor to smear our names.”
Earlier in the week, the governor was spotted at the assembly gate, while the gate was locked.
The governor later claimed he sent a letter to the assembly requesting to come and present the budget as required by the Supreme Court.
However, the Chairman, House Committee on Information and Spokesperson of the House, Dr. Enemi Alabo George, who said the governor is lying, challenging him to produce the acknowledged copy of the letter he sent to the House.
