President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Mr. Michael Hadi Ango as the Acting Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS).
This announcement was made public in Abuja by Anthony Ogunleye, Director of Press for the Office of the FCT Minister.
Mr. Ango, who hails from Kebbi State, is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in both public and private sectors, particularly in revenue administration, financial management, and leadership.
His academic background includes an LLM degree from Columbia University School of Law, New York, obtained in 2019, and a Bachelor of Law degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, obtained in 2002.

He further advanced his education at the Nigeria Law School in 2003 and participated in the Executive Education in Comparative Tax Policy and Administration Programme at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2013.
Throughout his career, Ango has held significant roles, such as Partner and Head of the Tax Advisory and Regulatory Services Unit at Andersen LP, a global tax services firm, and Head of Legal and Stakeholders Relations at the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) PLC, a Central Bank of Nigeria subsidiary.
He also served as Head of Policy and Public Affairs at Guinness Nigeria PLC, and was a Technical Advisor and Head of the Technical Team to the CEO of the Federal Inland Revenue Service.
Additionally, his earlier career includes positions as an Analyst and later Manager in the Tax, Regulatory, and People Services division at KPMG Professional Services, Nigeria.
Ango has been actively involved in various strategic committees, including the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms and the Fiscal Policy Reform Committee of the Ministry of Finance.
He is also affiliated with professional organizations like the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
