Former vice president, and PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has for the first come out to confirm their plan to form a coalition.
There have been rumor that the former VP will join Nasir El-Rufai in SDP, with some claiming that he was the one that sent El-Rufai to clear the road for his arrival.
At a press conference, Atiku announced that they’re working to have a strong coalition ahead of the 2023 general election.
The aim of the coalition, if successful, is to oust President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
The former Vice President confirmed this while responding to a question on behalf of the opposition leaders at an ongoing press conference at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
He said, “Yes, this is the birth of the coalition of opposition ahead of 2027.”
The opposition party members had earlier addressed the media regarding the political crisis in Rivers.
They said declaring emergency rule is not a problem, “but removing of the elected governor,” wish they said is an abuse of democratic rule.
