A former president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ali Ciroma, has been confirmed death.
The deceased died on Tuesday at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Borno State.
The dead of retired civil servant was announced by the Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Borno State chapter, Ali Ibrahim Ciroma.
He said in the statement, “It is with deep sorrow that I announce the death of Comrade Ali Ciroma, former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress.”
The late Ciroma will be buried according to Islamic rites today, Wednesday at his Maiduguri residence.
Ciroma was the president of Nigerian Labour Congress from 1984 to 1988, before he was forcefully removed by General Ibrahim Babangida, and was returned back during Abacha’s time.
