The Lagos state Ministry of Environment and Water resources has issued a 48-hour notice to owners of properties built on Right-Of-Way of drainage channels in Jakande Estate, in the Oke-Afa area of Isolo.
Sharing the issuance letter via his X handle on Tuesday, May 14, the state commissioner of environment and water resources, Tokunbo Wahab, wrote: “The Drainage Enforcement and Compliance Department of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources #LasgMOE has issued a 48-hour contravention notice to owners of properties built on Right-Of-Way of drainage channel in Jakande Estate, Oke-Afa, Isolo.
“This is in accordance with the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, 2017 and the renewed drive of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu #jidesanwoolu administration’s effort to ensure free flow of rainwater and prevent flooding across the State.”
