Masked men storm Oyo Government Secretariat

Earlier today, a group of masked individuals, believed to be Yoruba Nation Agitators, breached the Oyo State Government Secretariat, causing panic and disruption.

The armed individuals strategically positioned themselves at various points within the premises, including the Governor’s office gate and the House of Assembly gate.

Efforts by security personnel to address the situation were met with resistance, leading to a tense standoff.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Police Command and the Oyo security network Amotekun, swiftly responded by deploying patrol vehicles to the scene.

A brief exchange of gunfire and the use of tear gas ensued, forcing nearby residents and motorists to seek alternative routes.

The presence of military officers from the 2nd Division of the Army later helped disperse some of the protesters, although the situation remains fluid.

Businesses and residents in affected areas have taken precautions, with shop owners securing their premises.

At present, the true identities of the masked individuals and any potential arrests remain unconfirmed as security forces work to restore calm to the area.
