The Nigerian government has started accepting applications for a new N100 million AI Fund, created in partnership with Google.
This fund is designed to help Nigerian startups that are working on innovative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.
The programme, run by the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR), will provide selected startups with up to N10 million each.
They will also get access to Google’s AI tools, mentorship, and a global network to help them grow their ideas.
To qualify, startups must be based in Nigeria, have at least one Nigerian founder, and focus on AI solutions that could make a big impact.
They should also have a product that’s already on the market.
Applications opened on September 10, 2024, and will close on September 25, 2024.
Startups interested in applying can do so through the provided link.
Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, said this fund is important for encouraging local innovation and growing Nigeria’s digital economy.
