President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently overseeing the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
This session takes place amidst speculation about a possible reshuffle of his cabinet, as Tinubu has previously indicated he would dismiss any underperforming ministers.
However, he has not officially addressed the rumors regarding the reorganization.
Before the meeting commenced, Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), acknowledged President Tinubu’s dedication to upholding democratic principles, referencing the successful election in Edo State.
He praised the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for securing a significant victory, marking the party’s first success in the state in over eight years.
Additionally, the SGF informed the council of the death of former Minister of Women Affairs and Youth Development, Mrs. Salome Jankada, who served during the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo.
A minute of silence was observed in her honour.
