The Police command in Kano said it is following with details and investigating the recent event that unfolded at Kurna and Rijiyar Lemo communities of Fagge Local Government Area in the state that led to the killing of some people on Saturday.

The Police command spokesperson in Kano, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa made this known in a post on his verified Facebook page.
He said, “Regarding what happened at Kurna and Rijiyar Lemo on the 03/08/2024 we are still compiling information to ascertain the truth and investigate. We thank those who are giving us information.”
Daily Trust reports that at least nine to 10 persons have been reported dead at Kurna, Rijiyar Lemo, Bachirawa and Kofar Nassarawa areas all within the metropolis while many others sustained injuries when some protesters stormed the street defying the curfew order imposed on the state.
Security operatives in their efforts to disperse the crowd were said to have shot people, a situation that resulted in killings.
However, the State Government has relaxed the curfew from 8am to 2pm starting from Sunday.
