Olusegun Alebiosu was named First Bank of Nigeria Limited’s (FirstBank) new acting chief executive officer and managing director on Sunday, subject to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) approval.
Alebiosu took over for Dr. Adesola Adeduntan, who had held the position since 2016.
Prior to this, Alebiosu served as the Chief Risk Officer, Executive Director, and Executive Compliance Officer from January 2022. In 1991, he started working for Oceanic Bank, which is now EcoBank. He held positions as Chief Credit Risk Officer at African Development Bank Group, Group Head, Credit Policy, and Deputy Chief Credit Risk Officer at United Bank for Africa before coming to FirstBank in 2016.
He graduated from Harvard School of Government, the University of Lagos, with a master’s degree in international law and diplomacy, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial relations and people management. He also has a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science in development studies.
