Why Cristiano Ronaldo refused to attend Mbappe’s presentation at Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo did not attend Kylian Mbappe’s presentation to Real Madrid fans at the Santiago Bernabeu despite being invited.

Real Madrid finally realised their dream of signing the Frenchman this summer after he spent six seasons at Paris Saint Germain.

Some of the biggest names in Real Madrid ecosystem like Zinedine Zidane, Florentino Perez and José Martínez ‘Pirri attended the presentation.

However, fans were expecting that one of the club’s greatest ever, Ronaldo, would make a surprise appearance at the event.

Onda Cero journalist, Alberto Pereiro, reports that Ronaldo was invited by his former club to be present at the unveiling of Kylian Mbappe.

Pereiro said (via Bernabeu Digital), “Real Madrid invited Cristiano Ronaldo to Mbappé’s presentation and he did not want to come.”

Ronaldo, whose Portuguese team crashed out of the 2024 European championships in the quarterfinals, reportedly refused to attend the event as another engagement kept him from attending the spectacle at the Bernabeu.
