Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna State, has expressed dismay that the state’s war against banditry and terrorism had suffered losses in recent weeks.
The governor mentioned this on Monday while laying a wreath in remembrance of the country’s fallen soldiers during the state’s 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony.

Governor Sani, who appeared to be reacting to recent banditry attacks in Kaduna and parts of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, expressed confidence that the Nigerian Armed Forces will meet expectations by putting an end to banditry and terrorism in the country.
“In the recent weeks, we had some setbacks, but I have no doubt in my mind because I have confidence in our armed forces, and of course, Mr. President has also made it clear that we have to come up with a timeframe on when this battle against banditry and terrorism has to end,” he told reporters.
According to him, the Northern Governors would work with the military forces and the federal administration to achieve the successful conclusion of the battle on terrorism and banditry.
Governor Sani also stated that the country will never forget the fallen heroes who battled and died to defend Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
According to him, the Remembrance Day ceremony provides an opportunity to honour veterans.
He further stated that it provides an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices, bravery, and dedication of the fallen heroes who gave their lives in defence of their territorial integrity.
The governor then visited wounded troops at the Nigerian Air Force Hospital in Kaduna and the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, where he provided medical equipment and other supplies including as wheelchairs and blankets.
